Come out and join us for some of these fun programs:
"Trail-Trekkers" Walk
Thursday, August 4-10:00 a.m.-North Overlook Picnic Shelter Join us for a hike on the trails and see what crosses our path! What critters might be lurking under fallen logs or around the next corner? Use some of our equipment to take a closer look at the tiny animals that call this area home.
Bike Safety Checks
Saturday, August 6-10:00-11:00 a.m.-Howell Station Campground Is your bike ready for summer? Members of the Pella Cycling Club are offering free bike safety checks to bicyclists. Stop by Howell Station Campground (at the turnaround at the end of the park's main entrance road) and make sure your bike is ready for action!
Let's Go Paddling!
Saturday, August 6-Noon-2:00 p.m.-Robert's Creek East Boat Ramp (Location may change due to lake/weather conditions...call the Corps office for more details) Here you will have the chance to experience both canoeing and kayaking in the same day! Give one or both types of watercraft a try and see how much fun paddling can be!
(You must be 10 years old to use the kayaks. Life Jackets will be provided.)

Saturday, August 6-3:30 p.m.-North Overlook Beach How long does it take you to put on a life jacket? Why should you always swim with a buddy? Learn all about being safe in and around the water from Corps rangers and maybe even meet "Buddy Beaver" (our water safety mascot)!
Live Snakes!
Saturday, August 6-7:00 p.m.-North Overlook amphitheatre Do you like slithery, scaly snakes? Come learn about how they live and even meet a few of these amazing reptiles!
Chalk Art of the Trail
Sunday, August 7-10:00 a.m.-Wallashuck
(meet at the parking lot in the campground next to the Volksweg Trail) Show off your creative side! Artists of all ages are invited to join us to create themed chalk drawings on the Volksweg Trail. Bring your ideas and we'll bring the chalk!

Church Services
North Overlook Picnic Area-9:30 a.m. Sunday Coal Ridge Church (near Whitebreast Rec. Area) -11:00 a.m. Sunday Non-Denominational Church Services are held every Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day at these locations. Everyone is welcome!
