There's always something happening at Lake Red Rock!  Memorial Weekend kicks off the summer programming season, so check out these great upcoming activities:

 Geocaching 101
Fri., May 27-  7:00 p.m. - Whitebreast Campground (meet at parking lot by park entrance across from fee booth) You're never too old for hide-and-seek: Have some fun and give Geocaching a try! This sport uses the technology of GPS (Global Positioning systems) to hunt for caches hidden in an area. Bring your own GPS or borrow one from us for the activity. Learn some of the basics, then try it on your own anywhere you travel!

Pond Exploration
Sat., May 28 - 10:00 a.m. - North Overlook Campground (Meet at bike trail junction) Let's go "mucking" at one of the lake area's wetlands!  Dip nets and tubs will be available for you to try and catch some of the critters swimming and crawling in and around the area!  Mucking can be messy, so please wear old shoes and clothes.

Let's Go Birding!
Sun., May 29 - 9:00 a.m.- Whitebreast Campground (meet at parking lot by park entrance across from fee booth) Mon., May 30 - 9:00 a.m. - Wallashuck Campground (meet at bike trail crossing by park entrance close to fee booth) Take a journey along a campground trail in search of Red Rock's winged wonders!  Ranger Tracy Spry will help you spot birds, explain some of the basics of identifying them in the field by sight and sound and provide other viewing tips.  Don't forget your binoculars and bring a field guide too if you have one.  The hike will last about an hour.
