Country Charm

Dining

Murals and country stores are a great reason for a road trip to Pleasantville, Bussey and Melcher-Dallas.  In Pleasantville, the grocery store is a fun place to shop on the south side of the town square and just down a block is the mural honoring sprint car driver Earl Wagner.  As you come into Melcher-Dallas from the north, you will find a striking mural of the depot painted on the wall of the Melcher-Dallas Coal Mining & Heritage Museum.  On the south side of the square you will find D & S Grocery & Deli.  Make sure to stop at Northcote Meats Inc. to purchase some of their amazing tenderloins.  In Bussey, there is a great mural of the town folk painted inside the shape of Iowa.

Satisfy Your Desire For Style

Dining

It never fails.  Cars seems to automatically venture towards emBellish on Franklin Street in downtown Pella for a great piece of jewelry.  From a classy summer bag, to a shimmering spring scarf, to that one-of-a-kind necklace, emBellish has something for everyone.  It is a great stop on a girlfriend shopping weekend.

Girls Day Out

Dining

Girlfriends always love to come to Pella to shop.  A must for many groups is a lunch at Monarchs, shopping time on Franklin Street and a stop at the bakeries.  Throw your diet away and enjoy for lunch a fried tenderloin and onion rings.  And of course, what would a lunch be without a strawberry daiquiri or nice glass of pinot noir.   Girls also enjoy shopping at thrift shops, antique and vintage shops and garden shops all around town.

Get Social

Dining

Visit either of the Smokey Row spots (Pella or Pleasantville) for something to perk you up or cool you down.  It is a great local for a shopping pick-me-up with muffins, cookies and cinnamon rolls.  The free wi-fi are great for checking your email.  The atmosphere is cozy, yet fun with a local flare.

Thrifty Is The New Style

Dining

Bargain buys are the best and even better when they are going towards a good cause.  The Bibles for Missions Thrift Store in western Pella is a thrift store and more.  At Bibles for Missions why not purchase several photo prop items for your toddler holiday photos.  These are perfect items for a Valentines or Autumn photo shoot with a toddler and you only have to spend a couple dollars to have some great items to use.  641.628.1650

New Again

Dining

Are you an HGTV junkie who loves re-purposed and vintage furniture and accessories?  Stop at Brick & Mortar near Pella Corporation to find your next decor item.  Their pieces work well with several styles of home decor.
