Gladys Black Bald Eagle Refuge

This 38-acre refuge is prime habitat for bald eagles as well as neo-tropical migrants and other wildlife.

The site is now owned and managed by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Today bald eagles often roost on the refuge and can be observed from Horn's Ferry Bridge, a popular viewing platform across the river from the land.

Open April to November, outdoors
Note: Refuge is closed to all public access and uses from December 1 to March 31

Located below the dam (southside) just off Jewell Drive.
